Lydia Papaioannou, Senior Account Manager

In our latest ‘Meet the Team’ blog, we’re introducing our Senior Account Manager, Lydia Papaioannou. We take a look at her wealth of experience gained from working in healthcare agencies and her role at IGNIFI.

From science to strategy.

Lydia’s love of learning has taken her through completing two degrees (an undergraduate in Biomedical Science and a masters in Science, Technology and Communication) into the world of healthcare marketing, allowing her to blend her thirst for knowledge with her flair for communications. She is passionate about meeting people, where they are, and developing content that is accessible to all readers, regardless of their familiarity with science.

Prior to joining IGNIFI, Lydia has worked across the healthcare communications industry, from PR through to advertising and medical education. She has a wealth of experience across therapy areas and audiences, allowing her to pivot from patient-focused resources to HCP-facing content at a moment’s notice.

Lydia is an advocate for creative problem solving and finding effective solutions for both her clients and her team. Her nine years in the industry have honed her ability to bring clients and colleagues together to tackle even the most complex of briefs with enthusiasm and grit, as one extended team.

Ensuring compliance through scientific quality control.

As a Senior Account Manager, Lydia keeps project plates spinning while tending to the needs of both clients and colleagues. She continues to strengthen her strategic skills, eager to brainstorm ways to do things better.

Lydia’s scientific background has allowed her to get stuck in to a multitude of therapy areas including oncology, endocrinology, gastroenterology and haematology to name a few. Her career has seen her work with the likes of Novartis, Pfizer, Astra Zeneca, Gilead Sciences and Ipsen on a wide variety of print and digital materials, alongside events and sensitive communications challenges including rare diseases and stigmatised conditions such as HIV. As part of her scientific strengths, she leads scientific quality control within the business to ensure that the work IGNIFI delivers is compliant with medical, legal, and regulatory reviews.

I’m a keen diver and have been lucky enough to spend a lot of time exploring the underwater world. I’ve recently taken up freediving and am looking to get to my goal depth of 30m by the end of the year.
