We're proud to share that IGNIFI is one of 40 agencies supporting the PM Society's Creativity for Good initiative, benefiting the charity You Okay, Doc? Their mission is to create safe, compassionate spaces for doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals across the UK to seek life-saving support.
Through the initiative, agencies are donating and submitting a creative piece as part of a collective artwork exhibition, with the aim of raising £40,000 for the charity. This will double their operating budget and help support over 17,000 healthcare professionals.
At IGNIFI, we are committed to fostering open conversations about depression and anxiety within our team and across the wider healthcare industry. The statistics for those caring for us are sobering:
1 doctor dies by suicide every 3 weeks in the UK.
39% of doctors report feeling burnt out.
1 nurse attempted suicide every day in 2022.
The PM Society invited participating agencies to create a bespoke digital artwork that will become part of the “You Okay, Doc? Art Gallery” which is a physical and virtual exhibition showcasing the mental health experiences of healthcare professionals.
Working to the theme of 'Mental Health & Healthcare – Through a Positive Lens', the brief asked agencies to capture a sense of strength, community, and healing through their artwork.
The IGNIFI creative team threw themselves into the brief, collectively brainstorming ideas before presenting their concepts to the senior team. From there, five favourites were put to the whole agency, and everyone had their say. It was a close vote, but Digital Designer Ellie Grassick's design, "Open Up", came out on top.

Ellie has shared with us her thinking behind "Open Up".
The team were playing around with the double meaning of “open up”: the idea that surgeons might routinely literally open people up as part of their healthcare role, and the phrase “opening up” to mean sharing your experiences and emotions.
My idea for this design was to take it a step further and also bring in the suggestion of “opening your mind" to different experiences and perspectives, often a key part of therapy or other treatments for poor mental health. I also wanted to subtly reference the experience that many have of discovering more within themselves than they’d thought once given the chance to talk about things openly and without judgement.
To play further with the thought of “opening your mind”, I leant into the surreal image of an unzipped brain and drew on 1970s poster art shapes, fonts, and colours for a psychedelic feeling. Keen to draw on actual lived experiences, we incorporated quotes from the “You Okay, Doc?” site, and finally added some lovely textures to tie the whole thing together.
