The number of people in the UK living with diabetes has more than doubled in the last 20-years and is no longer just a condition of older age, with thousands of children and young people now being affected. It’s thought that this is primarily due to a dramatic increase in the number of Type 2 diabetes (T2D) cases and with an estimated 12.3 million people in the UK at risk of developing T2D in the future, the issue is only predicted to get worse.

A 2017 investigation into the trends in T2D patient data across the UK helped to provide a deeper understanding of the current diabetes crisis. So, what does this mean for the future of T2D treatment?

In this MAGNIFI, we put the results into context and discuss practical approaches for moving toward a new era of diabetes treatment.
