Sarah Thompson, Group Account Director
In our first ‘Meet the Team’ blog of 2025, we’re introducing our Group Account Director, Sarah Thompson. We take a look at her extensive experience in healthcare marketing and the key role she plays at IGNIFI.

Fluent in strategy and client service.

While Sarah’s academic background is in languages, with both an undergraduate in French and Spanish and master’s degree in translation, she transitioned into healthcare marketing after completing a CIM Diploma in marketing, where she has become an expert in client-agency relations.

Sarah’s journey with IGNIFI began when she was a Marketing Executive at Cambridge Laboratories, specialising in oncology and medical devices. After working alongside us and gaining a deeper understanding of our values and approach, she decided to move from the client side to the agency side, joining IGNIFI as a Junior Account Executive in 2010.

Over the course of her 15 years with us, Sarah has steadily advanced in her career, earning a solid reputation with clients and colleagues alike. She’s been promoted through the ranks from Junior Account Executive to Key Account Manager, then Account Director, before assuming the role of Group Account Director in 2021.

During her time at IGNIFI, Sarah has expanded her skillset with marketing qualifications, including becoming a CIM Chartered Marketer, as well as more specialised courses like ABPI certification and training in Veeva.

In her role as Group Account Director, Sarah applies her deep knowledge of both human and animal health to deliver strategic guidance, ensuring the success of our clients’ healthcare campaigns.

A specialist in animal health, Sarah has collaborated with major brands such as Boehringer Ingelheim, Zoetis, MSD, and P&G Petcare. She remains at the forefront of industry developments by regularly attending training events held by the Veterinary Marketing Association (VMA) and represents IGNIFI at the VMA annual awards event.

Her expertise extends across a broad range of projects, including adapting global marketing campaigns for local markets and converting physical assets into digital materials. Having partnered with clients like Allergan, Danone, Johnson & Johnson, SOBI, and Kyowa Kirin, Sarah excels at driving cross-functional collaboration to create high-quality omnichannel assets, such as Veeva e-detail aids, websites, training tools, digital and print advertising, video content, social media initiatives, and event materials. She also brings significant insight into therapeutic areas like gastroenterology, women’s health, rare diseases, oncology, respiratory health, and medical devices.

Beyond her strategic input, Sarah leads the Client Services department, engaging with key clients, driving new business opportunities, and strengthening existing partnerships to ensure long-term success.

I love to travel with my family and experience new languages and cultures. I’ve been fortunate enough to have visited some of the Great Wonders of the World, including Chichén Itzá, the Great Pyramid of Giza and the Roman Colosseum, with more still to come on the Bucket List.
