In this blog, we’re introducing our final new recruit of 2022, Account Executive Jake Watson. We discuss his marketing experience and how Jake will support our growing Client Services team moving into 2023 and beyond.

Introducing Jake

Jake joins IGNIFI after recently completing a masters degree in International Marketing after graduating with a BA (Hons) in English Literature from Newcastle University.

Jake has a keen interest in marketing gained from studying and also from his experience at university where he was involved with a student group responsible for improving life on campus for first-year students. He was able to put the digital marketing theory he was learning into practice by handling the official Newcastle University Instagram, Twitter and Facebook accounts as well as developing content for the University channels. His university marketing role also helped Jake develop excellent project management skills through being jointly responsible for planning and hosting on-campus events with hundreds of current and potential students .

Jake’s enthusiasm for marketing and willingness to learn and develop his already impressive project management skills further made him the perfect candidate for the Account Executive role at IGNIFI.

Jake’s role

As an Account Executive working in our gritty Client Services team, Jake will work alongside our Group Account Director and Account Managers providing day-to-day support for our healthcare clients. This will involve the development of creative, digital and marketing communication projects for our Global, pan-European and UK-based clients. Jake will be a key resource for the team liaising with both internal and external suppliers to ensure the effective delivery of our clients’ projects on time and within budget.

We are also keen to support Jake through further training opportunities to help with his long-term career development in healthcare marketing. To begin with, this will include ABPI and Veeva certification. As he progresses and his confidence and knowledge in client brands grows, Jake will take on more responsibility for projects to further develop his project management skills and give him greater exposure to the range of services IGNIFI offers.

Our Client Services team is a shining example of how several of our employees have progressed their careers through internal development. Our Group Account Director, Sarah Thompson, is an excellent example of this; Sarah joined us as an Account Executive over 12 years ago and has worked her way through the IGNIFI ranks to now lead our dynamic Client Services team.

Moving into a new year

Jake is the seventh new member of staff to join IGNIFI since the start of the year. These appointments have been part of a wider recruitment drive to expand IGNIFI’s resources in 2022 to meet current client demands and future opportunities.

Jake will support our Client Services team developing marketing communications for our clients, but his skillset and background makes him the perfect candidate to support with our own marketing activity also. As part of his induction Jake has not only has been learning about our internal processes and clients but also getting involved with our own marketing and content development. He has already hit the ground running in his new role by working with our Digital Engagement team developing social media copy, images, and video for the IGNIFI social channels.

We are thrilled to have Jake working as part of our team and look forward to introducing him to more of our clients’ projects as we move into a new year.
